A Tramp Abroad, by Mark Twain, has a chapter in it concerning the difference in the midst of United Kingdom twist and American English. Within the chapter, two men, an Englishman and an American, were having a conversation about the English language. The men were within a train compartment in the after 1800s. Their conversation began when the Englishman complimented the American on his good English. The American replied by saying that he did not speak English, that he spoke American which triggered a friendly dispute amongst them. They were arguing about who spoke better English. England invented the language, only when the American said that their pronunciation was not as good as an Americans. The Englishman fought back downbone by saying that some exist in New England do have good pronunciation, but other(a)s do not, and other parts of America have debaucher pronunciation. They then started talking about how parts of America swerve off certain letters of words and h ow people in England pronounce different words the same way.

The American started to cod the argument when he mentioned that even though England created the pronunciation for tight of the words in the English language, they still pronounce it other than than how it is supposed to be.
