In 1504, the Renaissance was in ample swing. People were outgrowth to look at themselves as special, talented and unique. In 1947, the world had just experienced its bloodiest war and end of human life. Michelangelos David and Alberto Giacomettis Man Pointing both generate the philosophical, aesthetic, and cultural values of their times, respectively.
During the Renaissance, people were beginning to feel cracking about themselves. They were beginning to embody the talents that God had given them to use. They were beginning to feel like individuals. David shows the beauty and uniqueness of man. Everybody is different, but everybody is better in their own unique way. 350 years after the Renaissance, a philosophical idea c all tolded existentialism spread among the philosophers. Existentialism cogitate on the condition of human existence, and an individuals emotions, actions, responsibilities, and thoughts, or the meaning or purpose of life. Existential philosophers focused more on beliefs and religion, or human states, feelings, and emotions. They also focused on the existence of God. by and by World War Two, where six million Jews were murdered and hundreds of thousands of soldiers killed or maimed. There is no God. As Friedrich Nietzsche said, God is dead.



Man Pointing shows the slightness of man. Humans are fragile, weak, and not as special as they once though they were. The philosophies of the times greatly connect into the artistic styles of the times.
Artistically, Michelangelos David shows the beauty in humanity. Humanity is beautiful, special, and unique. David is seventeen feet tall, muscular, and masculine, all good qualities to have. Michelangelo used perfectionism while creating the sculpture.
